Winspear exec moves on

After two years, Chad Rintoul, executive director of the Mary Winspear Centre and Blue Heron Park, will be moving in a new direction.

“I have very much enjoyed my tenure as executive director of the Mary Winspear Centre and Blue Heron Park,” said Rintoul. “I will certainly miss working with members of the board and the excellent team of staff and volunteers at the [centre].”

Rintoul’s resignation came after he accepted a position as chief administrative officer for the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors.

“It is with regret that the board accepted Chad’s resignation,” said John Bell, chair of the Memorial Park Society which runs the Mary Winspear Centre and Blue Heron, in a press release. “Chad and the team at the Mary Winspear Centre have done an excellent job maintaining community use of the facilities while growing trade show and conference business, which has provided a real economic benefit to the Saanich Peninsula. We wish Chad every success in his future endeavours.”

The park society board set up a selection committee to find a replacement for Rintoul, whose last day is Sept. 8.
