Furniture shop helps food bank

For its five-year anniversary, One Stop Furniture Shop opted to boost the Sidney Lions Food Bank.

Throughout November, the Sidney business offered discounts for donations to the non-profit group that feeds those in need across the Peninsula.

“One customer even bought in a huge bag of food and then returned the very next day with a cheque for $100 for the food bank. Now that’s the Christmas spirit,” said owner Janice McEachern.

“The effort raised two full bins of food. Apparently the food bank can most benefit from a cash donation so we are going to donate two per cent of all our sales (until Dec. 23) in cash to the food bank.”
